Culture of Life Lies, Volume VII (Habeas Corpus is for Pussies Edition)

So, we already know that Antonin Scalia is a Shithead, and of course he's a Dick, but now we know he's also a Tyrant (or at least an enabler thereof).

You see, that's who Alexander Hamilton recognized in Federalist No. 84 we needed the Great Writ of Habeas Corpus to protect ourselves against.

Hamilton cited Blackstone:

"To bereave a man of life, [says he] or by violence to confiscate his estate, without accusation or trial, would be so gross and notorious an act of despotism, as must at once convey the alarm of tyranny throughout the whole nation; but confinement of the person, by secretly hurrying him to jail, where his sufferings are unknown or forgotten, is a less public, a less striking, and therefore a more dangerous engine of arbitrary government." And as a remedy for this fatal evil he is everywhere peculiarly emphatical in his encomiums on the habeas corpus act, which in one place he calls "the BULWARK of the BritishConstitution."

In his dissent in Boumediene v. Bush, Scalia essentially took the Great Writ and wiped his ass with it. From these pathetic petulant rantings, it sounds like Scalia has degenerated to the point that he's now quoting for legal authority Rush Limbaugh:

America is at war with radical Islamists. The enemy began by killing Americans and American allies abroad: 241 at the Marine barracks in Lebanon, 19 at the Khobar
Towers in Dhahran, 224 at our embassies

I guess Ronald Reagan was too big of a pussy to suspend the Writ back then.

It has threatened further attacks against our homeland; one need only walk about buttressed and barricaded Washington, or board a plane anywhere in the country, to know that the threat is a serious one.

This fucker is seriously ready to throw out Habeas Corpus because he has to take his shoes off at the security gate at the airport? Really?

But the most offensive part comes next:

The game of bait-and-switch that today’s opinion plays upon the Nation’s Commander in Chief will make the war harder on us. It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed.

This motherfucking bedwetter. This bag of douche who gets off on the death penalty, who can't conceive of a reasonable restriction on gun ownership, who thinks restrictions on torture are absurd, who (I shit you not) looks to TV's "24" for legal guidance, thinks that it's the enforcement of the venerable Right of Habeas Corpus that's going to "cause more Americans to be killed"?!?
