Countdown to 9/11

Now that we're in the dog-days of Summer, it's the annual countdown to the GOP exploitation of the murder of over 3000 citizens on September 11, 2001. Of course, the GOP exploits 9/11 constantly, but the anniversary is a particularly big day for them.


Sitting here on August 6th or August 7th, September 11th may seem like a long way off.


And it is.


And as each long day turns into a long week, as we trudge through August and eventually get to Labor Day, remember that it was six years ago this week, five long weeks before 9/11, that George W. Bush was told:




And instead of treating this threat seriously, he told the intelligence agents that were concerned enough about this that they felt they needed to bring it to illegitimate pResident's attention in person, "okay, you've covered your asses", and went back to this:
